HeyHalaal for Android
Find certified halal food near you, in an app. While we wait for Google Play Store approval, you can install the Android test version straight from this page.
On an iPhone?
There is no iPhone app yet. You can still use HeyHalaal like an app: open heyhalaal.co.za in Safari, tap the Share button, then Add to Home Screen.
Download the test version
On a computer? Scan this with your Android phone.
How to install
- Tap Download for Android above and wait for the download to finish.
- Open the downloaded file (tap the notification, or find HeyHalaal-1.0.1-test.apk in your Downloads).
- If your phone asks, allow your browser to install unknown apps. This is needed for any app installed outside the Play Store. You can switch it off again afterwards.
- Tap Install, then Open. When you use Near Me, allow location so we can show halal places around you.
What's in the app
- The full HeyHalaal directory: SANHA, NIHT and MJC-HT certified restaurants, butcheries, bakeries and more
- Near Me: halal places within 10 km of where you are
- Specials and promotions from halal businesses
- One tap to call, WhatsApp or get directions
- Always up to date: listings and features update without reinstalling
When the app reaches the Play Store
Once Google approves the app, we will announce it here. To switch over, uninstall this test version first, then install HeyHalaal from the Play Store. The Play Store version cannot install over the test version. Nothing on HeyHalaal is lost when you switch. If you had signed in, just sign in again.
